What does it take to make a dream come true? If you ask sisters Susan and Carol McLeod—the fearless, fun-loving duo behind Hold Fast Brewing—they’ll tell you: “A whole lot of passion, a healthy dose of courage, a pinch of fear, and let’s be honest… a little bit of crazy.”

Life doesn’t exactly come with a game plan, and when it throws you a curveball, you either duck—or you catch it and brew beer with your sister. After the sudden loss of their father, the McLeod family was faced with some of life’s hardest moments. But instead of folding, they leaned in—into each other, into community, and into a dream they built together.

What began as a passion for handcrafted beer became something so much more: a thriving family-run brewery built on heart, hops, and the belief that great beer can bring people together.

Carol took her brewing skills to the next level—studying with the American Brewer’s Guild, interning with the pros at Rahr & Sons, getting her hands dirty at a small Tulsa brewery, and sipping her way through New England’s best. Meanwhile, Susan dove into the gritty side of things—learning fluid power, industrial systems, and electrical work, basically becoming our resident brewery MacGyver.

Together, they created Hold Fast Brewing—a place that represents everything the McLeod family holds dear: community, creativity, resilience, laughter, and love. It's a space where everyone is welcome, whether you’re here for a pint, a chat, or just a moment of connection. Around here, we believe in holding fast to your dreams, your people, and your purpose—and doing it all with a full heart (and preferably a full glass).
